As a QAE (Quality Assurance Engineer) on the Fire TV QA team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and delivery of our software, making key engineering and business decisions that contribute to Amazon’s long-term vision.

Responsibilities:

• Champion the quality of features through the development pipeline using both automated and manual tests.
• Report and verify defects and provide sign-off on features and release candidates.
• Own the creation and execution of test plans and test cases.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure high-quality feature delivery.
• Propose improvements to existing processes and automated tools to enhance the team’s speed, quality, and efficiency.
• Have hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with a good understanding of core software testing techniques and driving quality upstream.

A typical day:

On a daily basis, you will focus on service-side testing, including API testing, feature testing, and building new tools. You will create test cases for various types of service testing, ranging from pipeline-level testing to end-to-end testing. Automation will be a key aspect of your role, and you will contribute heavily to automation efforts.

About The Hiring Group:

The Discovery Services QA team is responsible for releasing new features and engaging in various other activities. QA responsibilities include backend testing, end-to-end testing, feature testing, API testing, and building other non-functional tests.

Key qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience in quality assurance engineering.
• Proficiency in manual testing and automation testing.
• Experience with scripting or coding.
• Previous experience as a QA lead on medium to large-sized projects.

Preferred qualifications:

• Familiarity with automated test frameworks like Selenium or Appium.
• Experience in gathering test requirements, creating detailed test plans, and defining quality metrics to measure product quality.
