Role Overview
Join Cisco’s Catalyst SD-WAN team as a Junior Test Engineer and begin your career contributing to the quality assurance of innovative SD-WAN solutions. This opportunity is ideal for fresh graduates with foundational networking knowledge in routing, forwarding, and security principles.
You will gain hands-on experience in Python-based test automation while working in a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Test Development & Execution
- Assist in designing and executing test cases to validate SD-WAN features.
- Verify product functionality, performance, and reliability.
Automation Support
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
- Contribute to improving test efficiency and coverage through automation.
Collaboration & Debugging
- Work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in troubleshooting and debugging issues identified during testing.
Networking & SD-WAN Learning
- Apply routing, forwarding, and security concepts in real-world SD-WAN scenarios.
- Continuously learn enterprise networking technologies.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain documentation of test cases, results, and defect logs.
- Support enhancement of automation frameworks and QA processes.
- Participate in technical training and development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Basic understanding of networking principles (routing, forwarding).
- Fundamental knowledge of network security concepts.
- Working knowledge of Python scripting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or academic project experience in networking or software testing.
- Familiarity with SDLC and testing methodologies.
- Exposure to automation tools or frameworks (added advantage).
- Interest in SD-WAN and enterprise networking solutions.
