Role Overview

Dataction is seeking a Manual Test Engineer with around 3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance. In this role, you will work closely with a leading travel technology client from Israel, supporting complex systems that process millions of hotel booking requests daily.

The role involves hands-on testing of backend systems and APIs, designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and ensuring high product quality before release. This is a great opportunity for professionals who are passionate about software testing, problem-solving, and working in a dynamic global environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual testing for complex backend systems and travel booking platforms.
  • Conduct API testing for services related to search, pricing, booking, and post-booking workflows.
  • Validate complex travel business scenarios, including pricing rules, cancellations, and multi-vendor logic.
  • Test end-to-end backend workflows, from search and pricing to booking and post-booking processes.
  • Design, maintain, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
  • Configure and maintain test environments that replicate real-world travel scenarios.
  • Investigate system failures using backend logs, request/response payloads, and tracing tools.
  • Identify and document software defects, and collaborate with development teams for resolution.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, test design, and test execution activities.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for test automation and process enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
  • Strong experience in REST API testing, including request creation and JSON response validation.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman (collections, environments, variables).
  • Solid understanding of HTTP protocols, including methods, status codes, headers, and authentication.
  • Experience analyzing backend logs and request traces for debugging and issue investigation.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries for data validation and consistency checks.
  • Familiarity with Swagger / OpenAPI documentation and JSON payload validation.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or similar systems.
  • Good understanding of testing types including Smoke, Sanity, and Regression testing.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC processes.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (BCA, BCS, MCS, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to test automation using Selenium.
  • Experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex business logic and multi-step workflows effectively.
