🎯 Job Purpose
The selected candidate will work in a hands-on manual testing role, focusing on backend and travel booking systems. You will design and execute detailed test cases, perform API testing, investigate system failures, and ensure high product quality before release. This role also involves mentoring team members and contributing to continuous process improvements.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive manual testing for complex backend and travel booking systems
- Conduct API testing for search, pricing, booking, and post-booking flows
- Validate complex travel business scenarios (pricing rules, cancellations, multi-vendor logic)
- Design, update, and execute detailed test cases and scripts
- Analyze backend logs, request/response payloads, and request tracing
- Identify and document defects clearly; collaborate with development and product teams
- Configure and maintain real-world travel scenario test environments
- Ensure adherence to QA objectives before product delivery
- Contribute to automation improvement initiatives
🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Software QA
- Strong hands-on experience in REST API testing using Postman
- Solid understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, headers, and authentication
- Experience working with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
- Strong knowledge of JSON payload validation
- Experience analyzing backend logs and request tracing
- Working knowledge of SQL (SELECT, JOIN queries for data validation)
- Familiarity with defect tracking tools like Azure DevOps
- Good understanding of SDLC & STLC phases
- Experience working in Agile and onsite-offshore models
- Exposure to Selenium automation (added advantage)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer/IT Engineering (BCA, BCS, MCS, etc.)
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
