Position Overview
The development team supports the Lending Department within Private Bank Germany, covering the full lifecycle of mortgage and consumer loans, including securitization solutions.
A core platform within this domain is the Lending Service Layer (LSL) — a structured and reusable API-based service layer designed to support internal and external stakeholders. As LSL continues to expand in a dynamically evolving financial environment, an experienced Senior QA Engineer (AVP) is required to extend and maintain these services.
This role involves designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, validating both functional and technical requirements, collaborating with business analysts for requirement analysis, and coordinating closely with development teams to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and robust deployments.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior QA Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
- Develop a holistic test approach for applications and subcomponents
- Design and execute functional and regression tests using Quality Center/ALM
- Perform test execution and reporting
- Build and maintain regression automation test suites
- Schedule automation scripts aligned with release cycles
- Version control artifacts using Bitbucket, GitHub, Perforce, SVN, or similar tools
- Set up new automation frameworks and recommend automation improvements
- Review smoke and regression reports, analyze failures, and raise defects
- Maintain and update test scripts as functionality evolves
- Ensure strong test coverage and adherence to organizational testing strategy
- Promote testing standards and continuous improvement
- Participate in knowledge-sharing culture
- Communicate effectively with developers, managers, stakeholders, and business teams
Required Skills & Experience
Must Have
- 10–12 years of functional testing experience
- Strong understanding of automation testing methodologies
- Hands-on experience with HP ALM and JIRA
- Knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
- Experience in test data management
- Strong SQL and RDBMS knowledge
- Unix/Linux knowledge with basic shell scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Team-oriented with high professionalism and ownership mindset
Good to Have
- ISEB Software Testing Certification
- Automation tools such as Selenium or HP UFT
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Scripting knowledge (VBScript, JavaScript, Shell, Perl)
- Experience working in automation toolsets
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 10–12 years of relevant QA experience within IT support
- Financial services or banking domain experience preferred
- Strong track record of delivering successful production releases
