π Role Description
At Deutsche Bank, the Test Automation Engineer (AVP) will partner with Business, Technology, and Risk & Control teams to design, implement, and maintain a modern testing stack.
The role focuses on end-to-end SDLC participation, with a strong emphasis on frontend (UI) and backend (API) automation. You will lead a team of SDETs and testers while remaining hands-on with automation design and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for:
- Web (UI)
- APIs
- Evaluate and implement the right automation tools based on project needs.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in:
- Selenium
- Playwright
- Integrate automation suites seamlessly into DevOps pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
- Establish and track KPIs such as:
- Defect Leakage
- Automation Coverage
- Test Strategy metrics
- Conduct automation code reviews to ensure maintainability and best practices.
- Plan, execute, and document manual tests where automation is not feasible.
- Lead and mentor SDETs and functional testers.
- Communicate risks transparently to prevent production issues.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and retrospectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- University degree in technology/science or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience designing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- Selenium
- Playwright
- Karate
- Postman / Bruno
- DB SQL
- Strong programming skills in:
- Java
- JavaScript / NodeJS
- Experience with CI/CD tools:
- GitHub Actions
- Jenkins
- Manual testing experience including documentation and execution.
- Familiarity with Test Management tools:
- Allure TestOps
- JIRA Zephyr
- Strong analytical mindset to identify SDLC bottlenecks.
- Ability to communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
