Role Overview
eBay is looking for an IT Testing Analyst – Entity Management to support the reliability and security of critical systems within the Payments domain. This role involves validating complex data systems, performing functional and security testing, and collaborating with teams across IT, Information Security, Compliance, Risk, and Legal.
The position requires strong technical testing capabilities, including data validation, API testing, vulnerability testing, and integration testing, ensuring systems meet strict governance and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Core Technical & Data Validation
- Validate SQL queries and large datasets to ensure accurate data mapping across eBay systems.
- Perform functional and API testing to verify application functionality.
- Validate end-to-end data flows and system integrations across multiple application layers.
- Analyze functional and technical requirements to identify test scenarios, edge cases, and potential risks.
Security & Governance Testing
- Conduct vulnerability testing aligned with OWASP standards.
- Validate authentication mechanisms, role-based access controls, and permission matrices.
- Ensure proper audit logs, workflow approvals, and compliance controls are implemented.
- Identify potential security risks such as injection vulnerabilities, privilege escalation, and configuration issues.
Defect Management & Automation Support
- Create detailed defect reports and assist with issue reproduction at API and database levels.
- Analyze logs and validate fixes in controlled testing environments.
- Support development of API and UI automation scripts.
- Assist in integrating testing processes within CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in IT Testing or Quality Assurance roles.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and basic security testing concepts.
- Understanding of SQL queries and data validation techniques.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in distributed teams and fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, or JavaScript.
- Exposure to automation testing tools like Selenium.
- Familiarity with Tableau dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of ethical hacking concepts and emerging security trends.
- DBA experience or database administration knowledge is a plus.

- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
