About the Role
As a Quality Engineer – SDET, you will play a hands-on role in building robust automation and performance scripts to ensure long-term product scalability and reliability. You will collaborate closely with product, development, and DevOps teams to strengthen automation coverage and embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
This role emphasizes a strong DevOps mindset, shift-left testing principles, and continuous improvement in automation frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Testing
- Convert manual test cases into automated scripts within sprint cycles
- Maintain and execute automation test suites across release checkpoints
- Contribute to TDD practices using JUnit, Mockito, TestNG
- Develop API automation using Postman, SOAP, or REST Assured
- Automate UI or performance testing using Selenium or JMeter
Performance & Scalability
- Execute scripts under load and analyze system performance
- Identify memory leaks, throttling issues, and connection bottlenecks
- Troubleshoot logs using tools like Kibana
- Contribute to performance engineering and system health monitoring
DevOps & CI/CD
- Evaluate build quality in continuously deployed environments
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in production deployments and share improvement insights
- Support release reporting and dashboards
Collaboration & Quality Advocacy
- Participate in daily scrums, retrospectives, and sprint demos
- Raise and track defects using JIRA, QTest, ALM, or Qmetry
- Mentor junior team members
- Promote best practices in automation and shift-left testing
- Continuously optimize test frameworks for faster feedback cycles
Technical Skills Required
- 2+ years of strong Java experience with OOP and Core Java
- 3+ years of experience in automated and continuously deployed environments
- Experience with TDD frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, TestNG)
- API automation experience
- Database testing (SQL/NoSQL)
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Confluence, JIRA
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
