Role Summary
Visa is enhancing its Visa Direct Payout Services platform to enable rapid, secure cross-border and domestic push payments supporting P2P, B2SB, and B2C flows.
The Senior Software Test Engineer will play a key role in detailed design, development, quality assurance, and automation efforts for this next-generation payments platform.
This is a hands-on, leadership-oriented role requiring strong technical depth and collaboration across global teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the Payments ecosystem and Visa Direct’s strategic role.
- Collaborate with product owners and technical teams to define requirements and features.
- Contribute QA inputs for estimation, planning, and feature delivery.
- Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Identify edge cases, exception scenarios, and risk areas beyond acceptance criteria.
- Lead and influence automation strategy and testing best practices.
- Ensure adherence to:
- Test coverage standards
- CI/CD practices
- Code reviews and quality metrics
- Shift-left methodologies
- Drive continuous improvements in testing frameworks and processes.
- Coordinate with global QA teams to ensure smooth release cycles.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong experience in Software Test Engineering.
- REST API testing experience.
- Basic understanding of performance and security testing.
- Proficiency in Java 8+ (Core Java, Collections, JDBC, Functional Programming).
- Automation experience with:
- RestAssured
- TestNG
- Cucumber / Karate
- Jenkins
- GitHub
- JSON / XML Parsers
- Strong SQL and stored procedures knowledge.
- Exposure to performance tools like JMeter / LoadRunner (plus).
- Knowledge of Docker / Kubernetes (plus).
- Experience in Payment domain (preferred).
AI & Modern Tooling Exposure (Preferred)
- Understanding of Generative AI models such as:
- GPT
- Llama
- Anthropic models
- Familiarity with GenAI tools:
- GitHub Copilot
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Copilot for Microsoft 365
- Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP)
Qualifications
Basic:
- 2+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
OR - 5+ years of relevant experience
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience
OR - Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
