Job Description

Position Summary:

Visa’s Mobile Enablement Platform team is seeking a self-organized Senior Mobile Test Automation Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to building a new generation of products that facilitate commerce in the digital and mobile lives of individuals. Your primary focus will be on developing intuitive features that provide profound value to our customers, merchants, and developers. As a member of an Agile Scrum team, you must possess strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, coding skills, testing expertise, and debugging skills. This position is based in Bangalore, India.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build and enhance test automation frameworks, write automation scripts, and perform manual testing primarily on mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
2. Collaborate closely with software engineers, UX designers, and product owners to drive testing and test automation strategy using industry best practices.
3. Take ownership of manual testing, test automation, and QA tools development for mobile applications.
4. Ensure the quality of mobile app releases through functional, integration, system, end-to-end regression, client/end-user, performance, and load testing.
5. Develop test strategies, test plans, and testing approaches while leading testing activities.
6. Collaborate with teams to set up testing environments for different methodologies.
7. Establish comprehensive and automated test plans for successful delivery of new/enhanced mobile product features.
8. Develop high-quality automation test engineering best practices, strategies, and principles.
9. Execute automation scripts and manually test features during mobile releases and development sprints, reporting detailed bugs.
10. Analyze complex software systems, improve overall design, testability, and quality of mobile and server platforms.
11. Design and develop test automation frameworks for continuous integration and execution.
12. Define test requirements for new features and engage development teams in contributing to automated tests.
13. Coordinate with scrum team for bug tracking, test prioritization, test automation, and release management.
14. Track and communicate quality metrics, including defect densities and open defect counts.
15. Prepare reports showing automation vs. manual test case status and release/project testing results.
16. This is a hybrid position, with the ability to work remotely and in the office as required.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or related fields.
2. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in manual testing and automation.
3. In-depth understanding of iOS and Android testing/automation frameworks like Selenium/Appium.
4. Solid knowledge of manual testing and other testing techniques alongside automation.
5. Strong expertise in designing and executing test cases and scenarios.
6. Proficient problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
7. Experience with SCRUM/Agile development and continuous integration using Jenkins.
8. Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
9. Excellent organizational skills with a focus on task management.
10. Positive and enthusiastic attitude towards teamwork and independent work.
11. Highly motivated with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
12. Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, JavaScript, or Go.
13. Passion for high-quality software engineering.
