Job Description

Role Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure the quality of a product, platform, or solution to be deployed at a client’s end by preparing test cases and performing testing, meeting 100% quality assurance parameters.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Understanding Test Requirements:

• Gain a deep understanding of the test requirements for the product.
• Design test cases for the product based on these requirements.

1. Test Planning:

• Author test plans with a strong grasp of business requirements and corresponding testable criteria.
• Implement Wipro’s testing methodology, emphasizing model-based testing for efficient test case generation.

1. Collaboration:

• Collaborate with the development team to identify and capture relevant test cases.
• Establish version control and criteria for testing, including involvement in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

1. Test Automation:

• Automate the test life cycle process using various tools like VB macros, scheduling, and GUI automation.
• Design and execute an automation framework and reporting system.

1. Software Validation:

• Develop and automate tests for software validation.
• This involves setting up test environments, designing test plans, creating test cases, scenarios, and usage cases, and executing them.

1. Defect Management:

• Ensure that test defects are reported following project/program/account norms with clear descriptions and replication patterns.
• Detect and document bug issues, preparing defect reports and monitoring test progress.

1. Quality Assurance:

• Strive to prevent instances of work item rejection or slippage beyond Wipro/Customer SLAs and norms.
• Create and release timely test status dashboards at the end of each test cycle for stakeholders.

1. Feedback and Reporting:

• Provide feedback on usability, serviceability, and trace quality risks, reporting them to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain ongoing status reporting and customer focus in interactions related to testing and its execution.

1. Client Interaction:

• Ensure high-quality interaction with clients through email communication, fault report tracking, voice calls, and adherence to business etiquette.
• Achieve on-time deliveries of Weekly Status Reports (WSRs), test execution reports, and updates in the Test management repository.
• Maintain accurate updates in project-related trackers such as eCube and TMS.

Stakeholder Interaction:

• Internal Stakeholders: Regular reporting and updates to the Lead Test Engineer and Project Manager. Coordination and support for testing solutions with Software Developers.
• External Stakeholders (Clients): Provide suitable solutions and support as per client requirements.
