Job Summary
As a Software Development Engineer Test II, you will play a key role in maintaining the quality and performance of services that power personalized content discovery and streaming experiences.
The role involves building test automation frameworks for backend services, machine learning models, and UI integrations, ensuring seamless functionality across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA engineers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and deliver high-performing streaming experiences.

At JioHotstar, Quality Engineering is a mission to deliver flawless streaming experiences to millions of users across the globe. The team works to ensure seamless playback for live sports events, blockbuster premieres, and popular entertainment content.
The QA team focuses on shift-left testing practices, building advanced automation frameworks, and enabling developers to release high-quality code quickly and reliably.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Utilize testing tools and frameworks to support efficient development, testing, and deployment processes
- Create comprehensive tests including UI, API, performance, and unit tests
- Ensure automated tests run effectively within CI/CD pipelines
- Identify, log, and help resolve software defects
- Collaborate with development, product, and QA teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Ensure quality for content discovery features across mobile, web, and smart TV devices
- Advocate and implement best QA practices and testing methodologies
- Support test infrastructure and maintain test data management systems
Required Skills & Attributes
- Strong programming skills with OOP concepts (preferably Java)
- Experience with mobile automation frameworks such as Jetpack Compose, XCUITest, Espresso, or Appium
- Experience with JavaScript automation frameworks such as Cypress or Playwright
- Expertise in API automation using tools like Rest Assured
- Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of test infrastructure development and test data management
- Experience preparing test artifacts including reports and test cases
- Familiarity with Docker, device farms, and parallel test execution
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in automation testing
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems or OTT platforms is an advantage
