💼 Role: Junior Test Engineer
You will be responsible for validating data migrations and transformations across modern cloud data platforms. The role involves deep SQL-based validation, ETL testing, regression testing, and collaboration with development teams to ensure high-quality data solutions.
🔎 Key Responsibilities
- Execute data validation queries comparing source vs target systems.
- Perform row-count checks, aggregate validations, and schema consistency checks.
- Validate data migrations from:
- Yellowbricks / Informatica → Databricks / Snowflake / dbt
- Test Databricks jobs and Snowflake/dbt models.
- Validate CDC / incremental loads (new, updated, deleted records).
- Conduct functional and regression testing for migration waves.
- Support integration testing across multiple data layers.
- Log and retest defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Maintain test case repositories and validation documentation.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and defect triage discussions.
🎯 Required Experience
- 2–4 years of Software Testing / QA experience.
- Minimum 2+ years in Data Warehouse / ETL testing.
- Experience in data migration / modernization projects preferred.
🛠 Technical Skills
- Strong SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions, filters).
- Experience with at least one platform:
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- Other Cloud Data Warehouses
- Exposure to Informatica mappings/workflows.
- Understanding of dbt models (preferred).
- Good knowledge of DW concepts (Facts, Dimensions, SCDs, Grain, Source-to-Target mapping).
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, JIRA, TestRail, or qTest.
- Experience using Excel for reconciliation and validation tracking.
