Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain automated data quality tests for large-scale data pipelines handling massive datasets.
- Develop data validation frameworks using technologies such as PySpark, Python, PyTest, SQL, and Hive.
- Work closely with Data Engineers and DevOps teams to incorporate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze testing results to detect data inconsistencies, anomalies, and quality issues.
- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure ongoing data quality in production systems.
- Document testing processes, standards, and best practices.
- Support knowledge sharing and provide guidance on data quality automation techniques.
- Continuously enhance testing frameworks and processes to improve scalability and performance.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1+ year of experience in test engineering or data engineering roles focusing on automation and data validation.
- Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark.
- Experience with SQL and Hive for data querying and validation.
- Hands-on experience with Hive and HDFS.
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data environments.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data quality frameworks such as Deequ or Great Expectations.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
- Knowledge of data cataloging, data lineage, and metadata management concepts.
