Amazon Development Centre India is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join the Echo Performance Team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This pivotal role involves ensuring the quality and performance of Amazon Echo devices and related features.

Qualification Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
• Experience in manual testing
• Experience in automation testing
• Experience scripting or coding
• Experience as QA lead on medium to large-sized projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
• Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Responsibilities:

1. Act as a point of contact for over 10 components and features.
2. Utilize Device OS domain expertise across multiple components/features to manage complex and ambiguous environment setups.
3. Understand automation frameworks and test setups for various components such as MM, Framework, CONN, etc.
4. Guide DAs (Designated Authorities) on time-sensitive tasks like reproducing Sev 1/2 issues, patch validation, etc., for over 10 components without pre-set work instructions or SOPs.
5. Extensively train and provide floor support for DAs, most of whom will be high school graduates with no prior experience in testing.
6. Create processes and documentation such as SOPs, wikis, findings, etc.
7. Review defects raised by DAs, provide additional information, and triage defects.
8. Review DA test results, perform audits, and appropriately coach DAs on test procedures.
9. Understand functional complexities of over 10 components to estimate bandwidth requirements, identify risks, and external dependencies.

Required Skills:

• Strong quality assurance engineering background
• Proficiency in manual and automation testing
• Scripting or coding experience
• Leadership experience in QA roles
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with automated test frameworks like Selenium or Appium
• Ability to gather test requirements and create detailed test plans
• Capability to define quality metrics to measure product quality
