About the role:

• The role of a Tester in the Banker Digital Experience Tribe at ANZ is to ensure the delivery of a great user experience and the performance, stability, and reliability of software applications.
• You will focus on accessibility, simplicity, and customer-centricity in our applications, while also being passionate about coding, automation, and CI/CD.
• Attention to detail, a dedication to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.
• You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including product owners, engineers, analysts, and other team members, to identify risks early, prevent and fix bugs, and improve the overall quality of the software.
• Your responsibilities will include designing test approaches, optimizing test execution, building scripts and tools, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensuring the necessary hygiene and traceability in the testing process.
• You will also contribute to the testing mindset of the team and provide support in analysis and design activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and prevent/fix bugs, improving quality from the beginning.
• Understand customer needs and design test cases accordingly.
• Coach engineers on test-driven development approaches.
• Design test approaches and optimize test execution for functional and non-functional coverage.
• Build scripts and tools for testing and continuous improvement.
• Identify and implement solutions for more effective and efficient testing.
• Ensure proper test case creation, script creation, test execution, and defect logging.
• Create acceptance criteria and provide estimates for work.
• Influence stakeholders to adopt a testing mindset.
• Contribute to analysis and design activities.

Required Skills and Experience:

• In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in open-source test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, WebDriverIO, Protractor, Puppeteer, Cypress, Playwright).
• Highly proficient in JavaScript (vanilla and React JS) and related frameworks (Mocha/Jest/Enzyme).
• Extensive experience in REST API testing and API automation frameworks (e.g., Supertest, Mocha).
• Sound experience in performance testing and related tools (e.g., Apache JMeter, HP Loadrunner, Artillery, K6).
• Sound experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo).
• Sound experience in service virtualization and stubbing technologies (e.g., Mountebank, CA LISA).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience in multiple programming languages.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Growth mindset, focus on continuous improvement, and passion for learning new tools, technologies, and practices.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience in security testing and contract testing.
• Cloud (AWS, GCP) experience and/or certifications.
• Active participation in test conferences and continuous learning.
• Relevant certifications to enhance learning and growth within the chapter.
• Eagerness to expand knowledge with new technologies beneficial to the tribe.
• Conducting sessions and contributing to the Testing Chapter.
