Red Hat is actively recruiting a Software Quality Engineer to enhance their OpenShift Container Platform team in Bangalore, focusing on enterprise quality, performance, and scalability.

About the Job

Red Hat is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to join the OpenShift QE team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will focus on the OpenShift Container Platform, leveraging container technology and the Kubernetes cluster management system. Responsibilities include designing test plans, extending automation frameworks, and developing automated tests for both backend and frontend components. This role emphasizes ensuring enterprise quality, particularly in Performance and Scalability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks, scripts, and performance benchmarking tools using Ruby, Golang, and Python.
• Research new features and design test cases with an emphasis on Performance and Scalability.
• Execute both manual and automated tests, providing clear status updates in a timely manner.
• Identify and document new bugs, advocate for resolution, and communicate customer impact.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, Agile global environment with other talented Quality Engineers.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ professional or open-source contribution experience in QE.
• Familiarity with testing methodologies and techniques.
• Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
• Networking knowledge.
• Programming skills in shell, Ruby, Golang, Python, or another language.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Linux containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShift.
• Knowledge of CI/CD technologies like Jenkins or Prow.
• Security testing experience.
• Contributions to open source projects.
