Job Title: R&D Engineer – Test Automation Developer

Job Summary:

As a Test Automation Developer in the Digital Electronics R&D team, you will play a crucial role in developing and validating shippable products for both the Indian and global markets. Reporting to the R&D Team Lead, you will collaborate with teams worldwide within the ABB MODP division.

Responsibilities:

• Develop test automation for variable frequency drives (VFD), including manual and exploratory testing to create high-quality test cases.
• Streamline processes to minimize manual work, enabling fast releases with high-quality automatic testing, and ensure software is delivered in alignment with global and local R&D commitments to customers.
• Create robust test cases for variable frequency drives, addressing new and challenging scenarios.
• Foster a culture of systematic preventive quality within the R&D organization.
• Collaborate with software and hardware teams working on frequency converters.
• Ensure quality assurance throughout all stages of development.
• Embrace a mindset of risk-taking, sharing successes and failures within the team.
• Encourage innovative thinking and challenge the status quo.
• Uphold ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, electronic, or power electronic engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in testing, commissioning, or maintenance of VFDs.
• Proficiency in working with ABB VFDs.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics.
• Experience collaborating with agile teams and familiarity with the scrum process.
• Good programming skills in C# and Python languages.
• Exposure to RoboFrame or similar test automation frameworks would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills.
