Role

The Amazon Fire OS team is currently in need of a Quality Assurance Engineer who can ensure world-class quality in their software platform. This platform provides a unique user experience and will support exciting future capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on improving quality and automating tests for both regression and new features. Responsibilities include understanding customer use cases, delving into software development, and developing QA approaches to gauge product confidence. This role involves working closely with development teams, test automation engineers, and peer QA teams to continuously enhance the software development process.

Role Requirements

To significantly enhance product quality, you should possess industry-leading technical skills. The following qualifications are expected:

• Solid, in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance Concepts
• Excellent understanding of operating system software and familiarity with object-oriented design principles
• Understanding of 802.11 standards
• 1+ years of experience in wireless testing for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Cellular technologies
• Proficiency in all Layers of the OSI model
• Familiarity with Web and server programming, TCP/IP and socket programming, test automation framework design and development, etc.
• Willingness to explore and design new methodologies and techniques for testing, including cutting-edge Machine Learning and Deep Learning methods.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience in manual testing and automated testing
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in automation development and testing using Python, with experience automating test cases for embedded software.
• Fundamental knowledge of Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, OOP, and complexity analysis
• Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field
• Knowledge of wireless connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee
• Proficiency in all Layers of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Socket programming
• Familiarity with industry-standard test automation tools and experience in developing product test harnesses.
• Experience with Android, iOS, or other mobile application development or testing
• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, C, and C++
• Experience with open-source tools and resources
• Experience working closely with development and business teams.
