Job Title: QA Tester (Full-time/Contract)

Job Description:

As a QA Tester at Innova Solutions, your primary responsibility will be to review and analyze business requirements and technical specifications. You will collaborate with staff at all levels to gather and confirm requirements and develop comprehensive test documentation. Your in-depth understanding of the testing process and ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines will be crucial.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key project stakeholders to identify specific business functionalities required for testing.
2. Conduct business user acceptance testing activities, engaging business leads as necessary to ensure requested functionalities are achieved.
3. Develop testing strategies for complex legacy and special projects, leveraging established relationships with stakeholders.
4. Participate in and execute tests using both agile and waterfall methodologies, working closely with sprint teams, testers, and IT stakeholders.
5. Create test plans that define scope, responsibilities, schedule, requirements, and objectives, ensuring thorough test coverage and high release quality.
6. Generate test cases based on requirements/user stories, encompassing all necessary conditions for validation.
7. Perform manual or automated testing in QA/SIT/UAT environments, collaborate on results, and establish entrance/exit criteria before UAT or production deployment.
8. Lead comprehensive functional testing for business processes, ensuring full coverage in UAT and resolving issues prior to go-live.
9. Manage test environments by defining and gathering requirements and maintaining them during testing.
10. Communicate effectively with business teams, project managers, and developers.
11. Update and coordinate issue resolutions.
12. Prepare test documentation and status reports following best practices and standardized artifacts.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of five years of experience demonstrating a solid understanding of the software certification process within the System Delivery Life Cycle, from requirements gathering to testing to implementation.
2. At least two years of project management experience.
3. Experience with user acceptance testing methodologies.
4. Preferred experience with AS/400 and DB2 Queries.
5. Experience in testing multi-tier web applications.
6. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows platforms and Microsoft-based web technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server databases and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS).
7. Knowledge of relational database design, programming, and information retrieval techniques.
8. Proficiency in writing SQL queries and executing test scripts.
9. Hands-on experience in designing and executing test scripts using Test Automation Tools is a plus.
10. Familiarity with various test automation frameworks is beneficial.
11. Broad knowledge of computer hardware, software, platforms, networks, web programming techniques, and operating systems.
12. Ability to analyze and evaluate defects, present results using charts for root cause analysis, and provide feedback.
13. Knowledge of software testing techniques and tools.
14. Familiarity with testing planning and estimation.
15. Experience in preparing test documentation, such as test plans, test summary reports, and monthly reports.
16. Knowledge of Business Retirement/Pension standard processes.
17. Proficient in executing test scripts and recording test results.
18. Familiarity with identifying and tracking defects using Test Management Tools.
