Job Responsibilities

As a QA Tester, your duties will include:

• Writing test plans, cases, and conditions to ensure effective test coverage.
• Executing test cases at black box, grey box, and some white box levels.
• Mentoring and collaborating with other testers in test procedures, processes, and best practices.
• Working closely with Development, Program Management, and QA Test leadership to develop applicable test approaches and strategies for products and product lines.
• Executing long-duration tasks and assignments according to project plans to meet schedule, resource, and quality requirements.
• Logging and tracking defects using designated tracking systems and tools.
• Participating in peer and external reviews.
• Developing test project goals, scope, estimates, and plans.
• Coordinating with QA Test leadership to train team members on test case development and execution.
• Working with Development, Product Management, and QA Test leadership to prioritize software defects and determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Mentoring and guiding team members to support overall team objectives.
• Identifying risks and dependencies of products and subsystems, prioritizing efforts, and delivering projects on time according to milestones, specifications, and defined quality standards.
• Engaging in test result analysis and test report creation.
• Coordinating the Defect Review Board (DRB) with internal stakeholders and acting as the interface on behalf of the engineering team.
• Developing cooperative relationships between the test team and interfacing individuals/groups.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Experience in writing and executing test plans and test cases.
  • Proficiency in black box, grey box, and white box testing.
  • Strong defect logging and tracking skills using relevant tools.
  • Ability to mentor and guide other testers.
  • Experience in developing test approaches and strategies.
  • Ability to work on long-duration tasks according to project plans.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with development and management teams.
  • Ability to prioritize defects and determine root causes and corrective actions.
  • Skills in risk identification and management.
• Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in creating test result analyses and reports.
  • Experience coordinating defect review boards.
  • Ability to develop cooperative relationships within the team and with interfacing groups.
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and QA methodologies.
